Where is home for you?  - London and Suffolk

Tell us a little more about your passion for Yoga.

Yoga has been in my life for 23-plus years. I still recall my first ever class, which was in a church hall in Cambridge, where I grew up. When I left the class, I knew I would be returning for another. The physical practice quickly became a part of me. Soon into the journey, I realised yoga was so much more than the poses themselves, and this sparked my curiosity to go deeper into the spiritual teachings and mental side of the practice. Yoga has created a lifestyle, a discipline, and a self-support system within me and I cannot thank the teachers of my past enough for starting me on this wondrous journey.

Wellbeing both physical and mental is the engine of our day-to-day existence, and quite often the outside world can pull us into situations that challenge us, whether it be our resilience or how we behave or choose to react.

How does nature inspire you?

Nature regularly inspires my yoga practice and teachings. It is a wonderful reminder of change, hope, beauty, and joy. It’s also my reminder of the impermanence of life, and how moments can be missed or equally seen, depending on where our mind’s attention is. Oceans inspire a sense of fluidity in movement—becoming unstuck and allowing freedom without the boundaries we tend to place around ourselves. Forests, parks, and wise old trees call me into grounding, a quieting of the mind, a focus. I often return to flows that pay homage to the Earth’s energy and strong vibrations.

How would you describe your style?

My style is a tale of two halves. I lean into a comfortable, colourful, and bohemian vibe when I’m at home or on holiday anywhere I’m in my most comfortable surroundings. But for my day job, I tend to adopt the opposite vibe! I love the Cape Cove Italian knit; it’s a neat enough silhouette that you feel feminine in it, but the slight open weave gives it a lofty, carefree spirit.

If you cold visit any place in the world, where would it be and why?

I’ve been privileged enough to see many places in the world. I gravitate to Asia namely South Goa, which I now think of as a second home. The most memorable, and I think my number one place I’ve been to, is Nepal. Wow. Simply magnificent—the energy of the people and the mountains is indescribable. One place that keeps returning to my mind is Bhutan. I can’t quite explain why exactly—possibly the rooted Buddhism that resides there—but it always lingers in my thoughts..
